FREELANCE - Sugar & Spice Inspired Baby Shower

Last weekend I had the opportunity to create a few "Eccentric Designs" for my friend Baby Shower - the theme of the shower, "Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice". It's been so exciting following her on this beautiful journey that began last year. You may remember her Bridal Shower I posted on "The Perfect Pair", I was able to include a few "Eccentric" items (click here to see pictures) and now (this year) I had the opportunity to play a role in something so special as the arrival of her baby girl. It was a lot of fun planning and bouncing ideas off of her for the shower. I automatically fell in love with the theme of the shower as soon as the color palette was chosen - Gold, Chocolate, Pastel Pink, and Hot Pink. I had so many ideas (spewing out of my head) and could not hold them all so I hosted them on my nifty thrifty Pinterest Board. Below you'll find some of the items I was able to contribute to the special celebration (and some of my DIY items):

- Sugar & Spice Sign -

I believe this was one of my favorite items because I put a little elbow grease into the frame. I purchased the wooden frame from Michael's for only $1.99 (it was on sale I think they're normally around $7.99?) and then I spray painted the frame with Gold spray paint.

- Sweet Little Corner Sign & Custom Tutu -

The custom "Doc McBert" Tutu Set was created by: Pink Laundry Events

- Glowing Mommy-to-be -

- Custom Candy Buffet Sign -

This sign was so adorable! I used blinged out clothes pins from Hobby Lobby to hold the sign up. The Grandma-to-be asked if I could create a sign that would emphasize to party guest(s) to be considerate of others while filling their candy bags ... I "think" I came up with some pretty clever wording : )

- The Candy Buffet -

I wish I had better pictures to share ... this Candy Buffet was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! It was a sea of candy. Matter of fact, there was actually TWO buffets (I didn't take pictures of the second table). The pictures I took were early stages of the buffet ... unfortunately, I never got back around to taking shots of the finished buffet : /

It was a lot of fun filling the glass vessels, rearranging, and designing the actual candy buffet. I'm sure you notice those two gold cupcake stands in the back ... I used those in my daughter's Candyland inspired Birthday Party earlier this year (I think we used these stands over a dozen times now - lol) ... I purchased the "C" monogram from Michael's for $2.99 and spray painted it with Gold spray.

- Candy Buffet Labels -

- Custom Centerpieces -

Table Centerpieces were light ... the Mommy-to-be did not want to go too heavy with over decorating the tables. She wanted to make sure party guest(s) had enough room to play games and eat. Centerpieces included: Vases filled with Hot Pink Water Beads, Ikea Framed Photographs, and Small Social Media Signs. The photographs were taken by me weeks before the actual shower ... each table displayed a different photograph of the Mommy-to-be and her family.

It's always fun seeing all of your ideas sort of come together. Now that the shower is over we're all anxiously awaiting the arrival of baby Caliyah : )

xoxo, Latisha
