Candy Buffet Table - Guadalupe's Quinceanera

This past weekend, I had the opportunity to style my very first Candy Buffet display for a Quinceañera. When the mom first contacted me to style a Candy Buffet for such an extravagant occassion, initially I had mixed emotions - ranging mostly from nervous to excited.

Air Jordan / Jumpman Party (With A Girly Twist!)

My little one has finally turned the "BIG" 8! This year she wanted a "party". For the last couple of years she's opted out of having a party (which was totally fine with me) and instead has wanted to travel or go to theme parks. Admittedly, I was a tad bit excited, just because I haven't thrown any type of party for myself or any family/friends in a couple of years (I think?!).

Air Jordan / Jumpman Party (Tons of *NEW* Designs!)

The Air Jordan/Jumpman Baby Shower Party (Celebration) first made its debut to my online shop in 2013 as documented by this - blog post - so, I would like to say I'm "one of the first" designers to have created this design. There are a lot of similar (too close for comfort) designs on the web (now), however I try not to focus on those designs (replicas) and I like to pour my energy into new and creative items to add to the collection to stand out from the rest.

I pride myself on top (high) quality designs for current and potential clientele. My goal is to help you with sharing your momentous occasion with friends and family while creating the ultimate party experience. These designs are offered as digital, but can also so be printed (when given proper notice/contingent upon availability).

In the last few years I've seen this collection used for First Birthdays, Baby Showers, Special (Basketball Tournaments) Events, etc. Thank you to all of my clients who've shared endless pictures with me allowing me to play a small role in bringing your vision to life!

Today, I'm wanting to share with you a lot of *NEW* designs that've been added to the shop - I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

FREELANCE - Church 25th Anniversary

The past couple of weeks I've been busy working on stationery for a very special celebration - My Pastor and his Wife 25th Anniversary. In addition to creating custom stationery, I also setup the Candy Buffet Table and assisted with Table Decorations. It was exhausting and a lot of work wearing so many hats, but the end results were amazing and I'm happy I was able to play such a small role in such a special milestone celebration! Congrats again Bishop Bobby and First Lady Gloria Banks!

{ Revamped } Party Collection - Juicy Couture

Recently I updated the overall look of the Juicy Couture inspired Party Collection (available here in my shop: http://goo.gl/23v3n7). I wanted to stay true to the pink and brown striped pattern and updated the look with fresh new fonts, switched up the layout of the designs a little, and added quite a few new items. This is still one of my most favorite Party Collections and I love it so much because it's versatile and is appropriate for almost any type of celebration: Birthday Party, Baby Shower, Sweet 16, Bachelorette, etc.:

Freelance - The "Li Li" Mermaid 1st Birthday Party

A couple of weekends ago I had the opportunity to create a few "Eccentric Designs" for my God Daughter's 1st Birthday - the theme of the Party was, "The Little Mermaid" or the "Li Li" Mermaid as we affectionately refer to her as Li-Li Pooh. It's been extremely exciting following Miss Li-Li Pooh on her journey from the womb to the world and you may recall the - Sugar and Spice Baby Shower - that was celebrated in honor of her last year.

I truly enjoy celebrating loved ones and creating something special for them ... it never seems like work when you're doing something you love, for someone whom you love. Initially, my best friend (Li-Li Pooh's mommy) and myself were brainstorming for a "Carnival" themed party - after getting me all riled up and excited about that theme my friend breaks the news to me that she's changed her mind. So, then she came up with the idea of having a Disney Princess, "Little Mermaid" party and I automatically fell in love with the idea of this party (because I secretly have an infatuation with Mermaids and yes I believe they're real!) We pinned several ideas on Pinterest and Googled like crazy trying to find thrifty, budget friendly, and easy DIY projects to make her party special and one of a kind.

- Eccentric Birthday Swag -

My first mission was to create Miss Li-Li-Pooh an adorable Tutu outfit. I wanted to stay true to the "Little Mermaid" color theme; however I wanted the tutu to have a "sea" feel ... I did this by adding corals, greens, and golds to the traditional pink and red colors.

Next, I wanted to capture this milestone birthday for Miss Li-Li-Pooh, so I created a "Milestone Birthday Chart" for her listing specific details about her regarding her weight, height, likes, favorite foods, etc.

FREELANCE - Air Jordan Themed Baby Shower

This year has been a very busy year for me, and I am eating it all up. It's only April and I'm pretty sure I've designed items for at least 20+ baby shower's (already). This Air Jordan Themed shower is the most unique so far... sometimes I wonder where these Mommy & Daddy's-to-be come up with these out of the world themes? My goodness... this theme really challenged me in a way I thought was never possible!

It was very difficult for me to keep this theme "babyish" as it is such a strong and masculine theme... however, I played up the cupcake toppers and other labels with using text such as; "All Star Baby Shower", "It's a Bouncin Baby Boy", "Mommy & Daddy's MVP", etc. as a constant reminder that these items are for a "shower".

A pet peeve of mine is going to a baby shower, that really doesn't look like a baby shower? I like the idea of having an over the top unique celebration, but sometimes I miss the cheesy ones that had the HUGE baby bottle piggy banks, or bottles filled with candy as favors, and other small reminders to put you in the vibe of a "baby". Overall, this is one of my favorite designs... I rarely get the opportunity to work on "boy" designs so I always dive into these designs wholeheartedly and try to add my own little creative twist.

{ Real Party } - Rainbow Candyland Party

Some mushy stuff...

My baby girl has finally turned FIVE... I cannot believe how fast she's growing up. I've really enjoyed this journey referred to as "Motherhood" with her and would not change one single thing. Raising her has been a growing and learning experience for me as well... Alley-Pooh has taught me so many things and has brought out a side ( a good side) of me I never knew existed. I can remember when she was a little baby and I would hold her in my arms and give her the occasional kiss on her chubby little cheeks and she would smile and coo at me, now that she's older we're having "real" conversations and she still "allows" me to kiss her cheeks and gives me that same smile : )

Introducing to you Eccentric Designs take on "Milk and Cookies"... *drum rolling*

FREELANCE { Real Party } Zebra and Purple Bridal Shower

I had the opportunity to participate in creating something special for my friend Bridal Shower ... her color scheme was purple, black, and zebra print. The actual theme of the shower was "The Perfect Pair". Items from this Bridal Shower can be purchased in my Shop: www.eccentricdesignstudio.com

{ Freelance } ... Princess (Zebra) Babyshower

I recently created stationary items for a Princess Zebra Baby Shower. To be totally honest I've stayed away from "pink and zebra" stationary items (on purpose) because I felt like there were so many designer's creating items using that color palette (and in so many variations) that I did not feel the urge or need to create my own.

Initially when I found out what the color scheme was I thought to myself (ugh) do I really want to take on this project and this "cheesy" overly used pink and zebra theme? The Event Coordinator or my good friend Marecia contacted me for these items and I could not tell her "no", because I know that Marecia will add her own twist to the theme with out of the box ideas... I've worked with Marecia on several occasions (my last opportunity was her Son's "Animal Safari Adventure").

So, here I am...Again, I've been afforded the opportunity to work with Marecia to create a few stationary items for a Baby Shower she is coordinating and I am pleased with the end results (and maybe even a little hopeful that my designs will stand out from the rest).

This same Baby Shower theme is offered in Turquoise (for a Boy Baby Shower). This theme can also be used for Sweet 16's, Bridal Showers, Quinceanera's, or any other celebration:
